Russell Young’s diamond-dusted work featured in exhibition at The White Room Gallery in The Hamptons
Star-studded summer show Pop Starz reimagines what pop art means today

The Hamptons, New York – Artist Russell Young brings his renowned diamond-dusted icons and stars to The Hamptons in new exhibition Pop Starz at The White Room Gallery.

In Pop Starz, viewers can see their favorite icons sparkle in Young’s signature diamond dust, which adds a luxurious, tactical, sculptural layer to his silkscreen paintings of cultural figures like Marilyn Monroe, Kate Moss, Elizabeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot, and James Dean. Through his unparalleled vision, Young reimagines the breadth of fame, further immortalizing the icons that remain recognizable to many of us today. Together they form a new kind of American tapestry, a tribute to brilliance and reinvention. This series does not simply gaze into the past, it pulls the past towards us, revealing how these icons, who have held such importance throughout Russell Young’s life, will forever remain timeless.

“It’s this beautiful collection of characters. These are characters you would want to sit around a dinner table with. I’ve had a love for these people from their music, from watching movies of them as a kid to the iconic lives they lived”– Russell Young

In Pop Starz, Young’s work is not only a perfect example of what pop art has meant across generations and eras, but his work also delivers on the promise of the American dream and an ongoing search for pure stardom.

Pop Starz will run from August 8 – September 6, 2020. In addition to a public opening, The White Room Gallery will also have an online virtual viewing room here

The exhibition is also part of the 1st Hamptons Virtual Art Fair, a cutting edge, wide-ranging, and dynamic marketplace of important artworks.
