Los Angeles-based Artists Gretchen Andrew and Lindsey Price Debut NFTs with SuperRare in IRL Exhibition during Frieze LA

Los Angeles, CA – Artists Gretchen Andrew and Lindsey Price, each known for their artistic practices that realign narratives surrounding how women are perceived and present themselves, join SuperRare in a new exhibition, Visual Storytelling, featuring NFT works at Tommie Hollywood during Frieze LA.

Gretchen Andrew makes her SuperRare NFT debut with Thirst Trap Glitch GIFs which use technical means to convert attention typically associated with “thirst trap” forms into algorithmic infiltration and act as technical vectors for the artist’s hacks of Google and other Big Tech algorithms.

Lindsey Price makes her SuperRare NFT debut with her series Divine Feminine, an experimental digital collage animation containing scanned imagery from vintage magazines, examining the spiritual concept of the divine feminine as a counterpart to patriarchal structures.

Visual Storytelling highlights 8 SuperRare artists—Tyler Shields, Luz, Nate Mohler, Lindsey Price, Gretchen Andrew, Ayla El-Moussa, Luna Ikuta, and Pete Halvorsenworking across various mediums and disciplines ranging from techniques such as collage, machine AI, photography, videography, paint, and animation all of whom are working at present in the greater Los Angeles area. These artists create visual stories that touch on varying topics from mental health, female empowerment, femininity, indulgence, life and death, the principles of framing, and the documentary of the everyday. All of these artists have a multi-step process within their creative approach that in turn crafts their final vision. Whether it be the outcome of the artwork or the process enacted to create it – the work fosters the idea and importance of visual storytelling within the art process.

Visual Storytelling is curated by Paloma Rodriguez, Curator and Art Advisor at SuperRare.
