about the artist

International artist Vicente Peris is an innovator, always stretching new boundaries in spatial concepts, forms and interpretations of figures, architecture and nature. With technical prowess, he produces works of art in a wide range of mediums that include photography, painting, ceramics, wood, silver and performance art.

The magnitude of his paintings that fuse realism with abstraction, are as large in scale as they are in vision. They display relentless tension, motion and contrast that are magnetic. With laser-sharp focus and unbridled precision, he allows the innate process of creativity to unfold in a process that has been described as “magnificent” and “ceremonious” by leaders in the world of art, including curators and art critics Fernando Castro and Miguel Cerezeda.

Vicente Peris has applied the same dedication and versatility to his career that spans five decades. His numerous one-person exhibitions in Europe, South America, and Mexico, include those in museums, galleries and performance spaces such as Museo de Bellas Artes de Valencia, in Spain; Museo de Arte Moderna Aloisio Magalhäes, Recife, Brazil; and Instituto Cultural Cabañas, Guadalajara, México. He participated in many group exhibitions that were held at the Ministerio de Cultura, Madrid, Spain; and the Fundación Pequeño Deseo in Madrid, Spain; among others.

With profound insight about the human condition in his most recent ‘Shadow’ series Peris states, “We come from light, the sun. Everything that is illuminated has a shadow. Every shadow has a soul.

Renée Phillips, Director of Manhattan Arts International, New York, NY, states: “I look forward to observing Vicente Peris as he continues to transcend conventional artistic boundaries, invent new creative visions, and share them with viewers in the United States and abroad. We can anticipate many more significant contributions from him in the international multi-media realm of art and creativity.”
